Scarborough residents invited to ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ at Wrea Head Country House Hotel to help raise £8m for MacMillan
Wrea Head Country House Hotel in Scalby is hosting a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan on Sunday 27 September – and everyone is invited!
Wrea Head, one of Scarborough’s top hotels, will be hosting their own World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Sunday 27 September when locals and visitors alike are invited to come along and enjoy coffee, tea, home made scones, cakes and biscuits to help raise £8million for Macmillan.
Hotel Manager Anne Hodgson, said: “Macmillan is an excellent cause and one which is very close to my heart, due to the fantastic support they provided whilst my husband suffered with a rare form of cancer 7 years ago!”
“We’re hoping to make the day a bit of an extravaganza! People are welcome to pop in and enjoy free tea, coffee and home made scones on Sunday morning from 10am. In return all we ask for is a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.”
As well as the opportunity to explore the public areas of Wrea Head and enjoy a walk in the hotel’s beautiful grounds, there will also be a croquet competition on the lawn, weather permitting, and a raffle with some great prizes – including a 3-course dinner for two in the hotel restaurant.
Macmillan’s Chief Executive, Ciaran Devane, added: “Every penny raised at a coffee morning will help fund more services for people affected by cancer. Your involvement – no matter how small – means there will be enough practical, medical, financial and emotional support to help to change the lives of everyone affected by cancer for the better. And for that, we think you should feel good!”
Everyone is welcome to attend the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning at Wrea Head and no charge will be made by the hotel for tea, coffee, scones or cakes – instead people are simply requested to make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The croquet pairs competition is schedule to start at approximately 11.00am. Entry fee is £1 per person with the winning team receiving a bottle of wine each! All proceeds from the competition will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
